Business - it's a big deal. I have been partner several times, an almost partner once, and a sole proprietor several times with varying degrees of success -- some really good and some not so good. Some that looked bad look better as I experience worse. And of course I have also been an employee. They all have their highs and lows, goods and bads.
I keep my resume online here. I specialize in Microsoft technologies at the moment, though I have worked in many different technologies over the years. I have led teams and had employees as a partner, and also been a consultant. It's all good and all about relationships!
Business - what is that? It's more than just money, it's people, exchange of ideas, synergy - the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. At least that's what I strive for.
I believe business must be relational, and that if you consider something not personal while doing business, you have simply not been in the position where a business decision has caused you enough pain to have to switch locations, relationships, friends, or lose a home.
This is all very personal stuff, and thus we must as business people take the whole person and their dreams into account when making decisions that affect them. Of course this is not always accepted in the mainstream.
